Howland Public Library, Beacon, NY:

Here Ted and I are photographed with Diane Lapis, Trustee of the Beacon Historical Society, who created this wonderful Margaret Fuller display at the Howland Public Library with Librarian, Amy Raff, for the celebration of the Margaret Fuller Historical Marker Dedication.

Before we visited with Diane and Amy at the library yesterday, we spent some time exploring Fishkill Landing at Riverfront Park, which honors Pete and Toshi Seeger for their leadership in the community care and cleanup of the Hudson River and its shores. We also explored High Street, which still has some of the old houses standing and serving as bed and breakfast establishments, as suggested by Elizabeth Evans. Diane showed us that Fishkill Landing extended up Main Street to Fishkill Avenue on the current Beacon map. We were staying in what was Fishkill Landing in our airBnB.
